F1 In Schools

F1 in Schools is the worlds largest STEM competition where teams of up to 6 students dive into a realm of engineering, enterprise, design and manufacture to create a scale F1 car capable of speeds in excess of 70KPH!

With our commitment to technical excellence, Scarborough UTC students have showcased their work in this competition since 2017 and have the following remarkable achievements. 

  • 2018 - National finalists two teams - Development Class
  • 2019 - National finalists two teams - Development Class
  • 2019 - National Champions - Development Class
  • 2019 - World Finals Abu Dhabi - 18 place overall
  • 2020 - National Finalists - two teams - Professional and Development Classes
  • 2021 - National Finalists - two teams - Professional and Development Classes
  • 2021 - National Champions - Professional Class
  • 2021/2022 - World finals UK - 3rd Overall and World Champions for Project Management
  • 2022/2023 - National Finals 3rd place overall Development class
  • 2023/2024 - Biggest ever year - four teams through to National Finals at Magna in Sheffield - English Champions (2nd Overall Professional Class)
  • 2024 - World Finals - Saudi Arabia and Qatar in November 

Unity Racing Team are heading out to the middle east in November this year for the biggest World Finals to date.  The team are working incredibly hard with some amazing innovations to be showcased on the world stage supported by a brilliant range of local, national and international sponsors without whom we would not be able to compete year on year at this level.
